  • Post 9/11 show: When researchers scan for media reaction in the US post 9/11 twenty or thirty years from now, this video will figure prominently. This is TV history. Here are a couple of important excerpts.
"The idea that we can sit in the back of the country and make wisecracks, which is really what we do, we sit in the back and throw spitballs, but never forgetting the fact that it is a luxury in this country that allows us to do that. A country that allows for open satire." "The view from my apartment was World Trade Center… and now it is gone. They attacked it… But you know what the view is now? Statue Of Liberty, the view from the south of Manhattan is the statue of Liberty, you can't beat that."

  • UK Debate vs. US Debate: An interesting comparison between UK and US election debates.
  • Jeri Ryan Interview: Pure showmanship.
  • Bill O'Reilly: Jon Stewart has Bill O'Reilly as a guest.
  • Bush's visit to India and Pakistan: Jon provides commentary on Bush's visit with interesting blurbs about nuclear treaty in exchange for not kicking ass at spelling bees (In 2005, all the 5 remaining participants were born to Indian parents). He later comments on how Bush had to arrive in secrecy under a veil of darkness in Pakistan, America's ally in the war on terror. Jon Hodgman makes an interesting point about India having the second largest Muslim population in the world.

Miscellaneous:

  • Sword slices bullet:Watch the Samurai sword slice the bullet into two. This feat is generally mimicked in Indian movies to the chagrin of many. I guess this video lends credibility to such stunts.

Terrorism:

  • Obsession is a study about Radical Islam and the propaganda against the west as seen in the Arab media. It has disturbing TV footage from Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, UAE, Pakistan among other countries. The level of instigation rivals that of Nazi Germany. [Update #1, 08/06/2006: The Obsession video apparently has been removed from Google's Video archive. The video is available in parts on youtube.]
